Welcome Ms. Malinconico
Mercy Center welcomed Ms. Elena Malinconico as Sisters Academy of NJ’s new Principal on July 1, 2021. With over 16 years in Catholic Education, the majority at St. Stanislaus Kostka School in Sayreville, a school in the Diocese of Metuchen, she began in early childhood education, then as a middle school language arts teacher, eventually being the school’s Principal for six years. Most recently, she served as Principal at St. Matthias School in Somerset, a school with 300 students in preschool through eighth grade. Ms. Maliniconico served in various leadership roles during her career such as the Diocese of Metuchen Principals’ Advisory Council mentoring new principals. Additionally, she was a member of the standardized testing committee and worked on the Diocese’s accreditation with the international organization, Cognia.
As an educator, she also works to make her home a better place. She served her local community as a member of the Keyport Board of Education, three of those years as the President. She is a lifelong New Jersey resident, received her Bachelor’s degree at William Paterson University and Master’s in Educational Leadership at Seton Hall University. As the mother of two teenage daughters, she is excited and honored to lead Sisters Academy into its next milestone. Her commitment to the mission and values of Sisters Academy will drive her passion of providing an education of excellence to young girls from the greater Asbury Park area.
Welcome Ms. Malinconico, we look forward to working with you.
